By artist alumna Kim Waale
Available in a range of patinas.
Each Limited Edition Collector’s Series is a signed and numbered, handsome bronze sculpture by Ms. Waale, who is a professor of art at Cazenovia College and an esteemed Sculpture Space alumna. The bronzes can function as bookends or individually as book weights. Their form is inspired by prehistoric tools: a scraper and an axe head. The shape also subtly suggests a chair—a veiled reference to CHAIRity. No two are totally identical because of the varied patinas. Please note that no further castings will ever be made. The Limited Edition project has been brought to fruition under the visionary leadership of Edward Wheatley and Daniel Buckingham, made possible with the generosity of the artist and of Sculpture Space founder, John von Bergen, in whose studio the pouring of molten bronze occurred. Other supporters: Caldwell Ward & Brass Co, Syracuse NY; and studio assistants Colin Boyd, Patrick Cuffe, Kevin Curran and Aimee Tarasek, as well as Frank Viola and Sara Young.
