Alex Schechter

Alex Schechter is an artist who is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who has his BA in Studio Arts/ Religious Studies from Grinnell College, Certification in Post- Secondary Arts Education from MICA in Baltimore, MD and MFA in Sculpture from Rinehart School of Sculpture, MICA, Baltimore, MD.
Alex has held many exhibitions be it solo or in a group all throughout the United States. WHile holding these exhibitions he has adjudicated many classes and projects from institutions in Maryland, Wisconsin and Iowa.
His work focuses on the divisions and arbitrary borders between the natural and built world, by combining traditional craft and digital fabrication. His work has been shown internationally including shows in New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Karachi, Pakistan with solo shows Baltimore and New Orleans. He currently teaches at Temple University’s Tyler School of Arts and at West Chester University.
