Jae Hi Ahn

Brooklyn, NY
Residency: September-October 2007

Project Description
Seascape series is the one I started to create right after my trip to Korea in 2006. I was visiting Korea for my grandmother’s funeral during the winter of 2006. My hometown, Dangjin, is located on the West Coast with the scene of endless small mountains. This Seascape is reminiscent of my home scape and grandmother’s tomb. I used plastic cutouts, polystyrene, and pins to create Seascape. Dreaming Plant is the most recent sculpture. Dreaming Plant is the large hanging sculpture which is consisted of endless lines of repeated organic form. I constructed Dreaming Plant with vinyl tubes, plastic cutouts, wire, and pins.
