John Melvin

John Melvin is an artist who lives and works in Seattle, Washington who has his BFA in painting from Massachusetts College of Art Boston, Massachusetts, Post Baccalaureate in Studio Arts from Pont Aven School of Contemporary Art, France and MFA from San Francisco Art Institute.
Since his completion of school he has been awarded many honors and grants from organizations all over the world like Ukraine, France, Cambodia and Alaska just to name a few. He has also held exhibitions all over the world as a result. While holding these exhibitions he has been featured in many publications.
John’s work is intent on distilling a meaning of ecology relevant to society, typically up-cycling materials that have passed their traditional use. A majority of his practice is intended or situated in the public realm. He has produced site-specific installations all over the world, and many private collections are in possession of his work.
