Lisa Lukas

At Sculpture Space Lisa Lukas produced Back Page and Treadmill, examples of performance art. In Back Page her movement leaves a trace of paint on a screen until the figure is dissolved in darkness. Treadmill represents an endless journey to the center as home.

Lukas received an MFA from the University of Fine Arts, Düsseldorf. She has worked as a theater sculptor at Opera Munich and has taught experimental sculpture at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main. Her work has been shown in the Townhouse Gallery, Cairo; Ulaanbaatar, National Museum of Modern Art, Mongolia; Karl Ernst Osthaus-Museum, Hagen, Germany and the Centre Culturel d’Egypt, Paris.
