Marat Gabdrakhmanov is an established freelance artist and sculptor in his native Kazakhstan. Marat studied at the Ural School of Applied Arts, in Nizhniy Tasgil, Russia; Zhubanova University, Aktobe Kazakhstan; and at Pratt Institute, in the Kazak Government’s “Bolashak” program. He created monuments for municipalities, metal and stone sculptures for private collectors, busts fro tombstones and decorative sculpture fro corporations. Marat is a member of the Union of Artists in Kazakhstan and placed 3rd in the Ekateringburg Sculpture Garden festival in Russia. His work is in part inspired by the animal-stylized art of his nomadic ancestors.
